Our mission is to assist people (including young people) in gaining creative, personal, and educational skills along with developing non-academic benefits such as promoting self-esteem, motivation, aesthetic awareness, cultural exposure, creativity, improved emotional expression, as well as social harmony and appreciation of diversity.
“You can choose your friends but not your family”
Strong communities share characteristics of strong families. Strong families build on the foundation for lasting friendships.
At Creating With Friends we recognize blood is not a requirement for feeling like a family. We are not simply creating art, we are creating lasting memories and developing stronger relationships and communities.
“How do you climb a mountain? - One step at a time.”
The arts are a path towards social, emotional, and educational development. Our events encourage creativity, ingenuity and opportunities to strengthen intergenerational relationships, familial bonds, and communities.
Many drink and paint opportunities are for the over 21 crowd; most encourage drinking while painting with the emphasis on socialization. We prefer to encourage and include families and provide an atmosphere appropriate for children to participate with a family member age 18 or older. That means parents, grandparents, older siblings, aunts and uncles and even close neighbors can attend.
The events are run differently than traditional classes. You will have fun learning techniques and skills and discovering your inner creativity. This is accomplished through a balance between fun and instruction.
